Vagal Drift (2025) Motion Art/soundscape A neuro-aesthetic motion piece weaving geometry, light, and somatic calm. Vagal Drift invites the viewer into a slow, breathing architecture: curving conduits of shimmering metal and soft bioluminescent glow fold and spiral in a space that defies ordinary geometry. The motion is unhurried — a continuous drift rather than a forward march — intended not to stimulate but to soothe. Accompanied by an ethereal “heavenly harp” soundscape — sparse, resonant, and nearly formless — the work becomes a gentle invitation to the parasympathetic nervous system: to slow, to exhale, to home in on inner space. Rather than narrate or illustrate, Vagal Drift offers a container for introspection: a visual and sonic field in which the viewer can land, unwind, and inhabit the geometry of calm. Restorative neuroaesthetics uses gentle visual motion and harmonic sound to invite parasympathetic calm, grounding the viewer in a physiologically safe state.
