Impossible Nature #4

Created almost 2 years ago
I could say that seeing a forest waving like the surface of the sea is a reflection of how fragile the ecosystems in which we live are, but that is not the concept that drives me to create these pieces. Any philosophical question about existence, perception, aesthetic experience or the social implications of art would be grossly reduced to cheap speculation if I was to include it to explain my work. I have a dream machine, which is the computer, and I enjoy conjuring the undulating forms that have captured my attention since I was a child, more as a form of profound escapism than as a way of communicating a message. Nevertheless, these pieces have provoked mixed feelings, from pleasure to anxiety, and that is why I consider them valuable. Therein lies, for me, the essential power of art, to stop the world for a moment, to focus attention on these forms, created by a person, inserted in his own ecosystem.
