Fire in A Box

Created almost 4 years ago
"Fire in a Box" forms part of a series of works depicting a square, glass box situated in various rural and urban landscapes. Each time, the box contains a different natural element—fire, smoke, water, light and so on. Kaewpring’s aim was to highlight the societal constraints that so often hinder us from being present and at peace in the current moment. The box is a symbol of these systems. “These forces of nature have the capacity for great change, growth, and destruction, and yet they are still able to be controlled by humanity. Even they have their limits. These elements combined with their settings represent aspects of psychological freedom. If we are able to think outside the box, to break the glass that surrounds us, perhaps we could achieve true liberation and happiness” - Tanapol Kaewpring
