This is Satellike Episode 03. Satellike is a new series of macro videos, dealing with the topography and color profiles of planet earth. The natural size of the images is around 5 square centimeters, created with paint on paper and filmed with a high magnification ratio. I created the most part of the paints and inks for this projects myself and ran research with specific pigments and stone powders. I wanted to adapt the natural and matte aesthetics of satellite images from the earth as well as the sun lights properties. The method I developed for these visuals is quite time intensive as you need to work with several layers of thick and thin paint which need to dry on the paper before applying the next coating. The paper starts bending over time, giving the fast liquids a direction as they pave their way through the slower structures.
