Lontana

The five platonic solids also known as Sacred Geometry are the basic forms that interest me. In addition the processes and the essence of ancient south Asian and oriental art has ideological and the iconography influences that are reflected in my works. I create still images in various graphic design computer programmes and by a wholly intuitive process select and refine one that may become a presented, final piece. Much of generative art involves mathematics and I use chance to select random combinations of numbers and formulas to explore the impact on the generated image. I am fascinated by the depth of infinite forms that are possible from one basic form found within the platonic solids. Similar to sketches in traditional art forms I make low resolution tests until I find one that works within the parameters of a sacred space in which I aim to create a sense of silent contemplation, a theme that recurs throughout my works.
